About the album

‘normal II’ is a new project by jazz guitarist Axel Fischbacher with his trio (Nico Brandenburg – bass, Tim Dudek – drums). The trio has been playing together for years and, through their interaction, develops a dense and flexible sonic structure. Saxophonist Ohad Talmor shapes the band’s sound with his avant-garde musical language, while Tamara Lukasheva uses her voice as a pure instrument within the ensemble. The music (compositions by Axel Fischbacher) combines bebop roots with open, improvisation-driven playing and reflects an artistic normality that is natural in jazz: musicians from a wide range of backgrounds create music together—without pathos, without a fixed concept—simply as a lived practice.
